About us
Your local tyre specialists in Normanton
An independent tyre shop on Albert Street with a van that spends most of its week somewhere else entirely.
Tyre Hub Normanton supplies and fits tyres for cars and vans from a workshop on Albert Street, a couple of minutes from the centre of Normanton and an easy run from Wakefield, Castleford and Featherstone.
We stock new tyres from names you will recognise — Goodyear, Michelin, Dunlop and Pirelli — alongside quality budget and mid-range options, and we keep a stock of part-worn tyres for people who need to get back on the road without a big bill. Whichever you go for, the tyre is balanced before it goes back on the car.
Beyond tyres we handle puncture repairs, wheel balancing and oil and filter changes for all makes of car.
Most of the work goes out on the van
The workshop is still here and plenty of people still use it, but the balance has shifted. More of what we do now happens on somebody's driveway, in a work car park or in a lay-by, because that is what suits people — nobody has a spare half day to sit in a waiting room, and a car with a flat tyre often cannot get to us anyway.
The van carries the tyres, the fitting machine and the wheel balancer, so a mobile job is the same job, done in the same order, just somewhere else. The call-out is free across the WF6 postcodes around Normanton, and we work out to about 70 miles from the workshop beyond that. Outside the free area a call-out charge may apply and it is agreed with you before we set off, never after.
In practice that means we are regularly in Normanton, Wakefield, Leeds, Castleford, Pontefract and Huddersfield and a long way past them. Put your postcode into the checker and it will tell you exactly where you stand.
How we like to do things
If a tyre can be repaired safely, we repair it. That is cheaper for you than a new one and it is the right job, so we would rather do it. When a tyre cannot be repaired we will tell you why and show you the damage, because "it needs replacing" on its own is not an answer anybody should accept.
Every wheel gets balanced before it goes back on, mobile or in the workshop. It is the step that gets skipped when somebody is rushing, and it is the difference between a car that sits steady at seventy and one that hums through the steering wheel for the next two years.
We sell both new and part-worn because both have their place. If you are doing motorway miles and keeping the car, new works out cheaper per mile and we will say so. If you need something legal on the car today and the budget is what it is, a properly inspected part-worn beats driving on a tyre that has had it.
Nothing is paid through this website. You settle up when the work is done and you can see it has been done.
If you are not sure what your vehicle needs, bring it down. We will check the tyres free of charge and tell you honestly what we would do. No pressure and no sales patter.
